Acid Ball Installation Bellingham, WA

In homage to Bellingham's industrial past, the closed Georgia Pacific pulp mill's 1920s acid accumulator (Acid Ball) will be transformed into an exquisite art installation. The mill site is being converted into a new city park along the Whatcom Creek Waterway, now under construction.

The ball will be relocated closer to the waterfront and coated with a reflective paint. This creative application transforms the piece that will serve both as a historical marker and a beacon for the future.

Lund Opsahl provided structural engineering services for the installation of the sculpture.
