WCC Art Studio
Whatcom Community College Art Studio and Field House Bellingham, WA
The beauty of the exposed structural concrete in this facility enhances the artistic endeavors of the students. A high, smooth slab roof with angled clerestory roofs, channels north light into the main ceramic studio space. The roof slab cantilevers 18 feet to the southern sky, tapering to a slim 6 inches at the tip. A thin concrete slab defies gravity as it floats above the walkway to the field-house support facilities.
