Riot Games Remote Broadcast Center
This project transforms an existing concrete warehouse into a two-story remote broadcast center (RBC) that supports live e-sports broadcast production and operations for all of Riot Game’s regional and global events. The facility incorporates advanced technologies, such as AR/XR sound stages and multi-purpose insert studios, enabling more creative production opportunities. This RBC will enhance the global e-sports experience by offering unique content in multiple languages and providing real-time stats and insights during events.
A hybrid structure of steel frames and cross-laminated timber (CLT) floors creates the second-floor mezzanine. The structure is designed with deconstruction and expansion in mind—its modular components can be easily expanded or disassembled for reuse, reflecting a sustainable and time-saving approach to adaptive reuse. Enhanced acoustic design also mitigates nearby SeaTac air traffic noise.
