Lund Opsahl is seeking a business development coordinator with strong organizational and analytical skills, interested in helping us enhance and expand our business development reach and potential, through research-based decisions as we continue to grow. Working closely with the firm Principals and Business Development Director, the business development coordinator will conduct extensive research and develop market insights which will help in steering our business development efforts in the A/E/C industry. Detail-oriented and possessing a healthy dose of curiosity, intention and organizations skills, the Business Development Coordinator will serve an essential role in orienting company business development efforts towards intentional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential clients, projects, and funding pathways, as well as to identify trends, competitive landscape, customer preferences, and potential growth opportunities.
- Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to provide strategic recommendations.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources, including surveys, focus groups, industry reports, capital plans and digital analytics.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in the AEC industry and target markets/sectors
- Act as interim Sector and/or Market champion to ensure coverage in new or emerging sectors/markets as required to grow knowledge and presence in alignment with Company’s strategic plan
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, clients, and stakeholders
- Identify, pursue and recommend pre-positioning efforts for new business opportunities
- Work alongside principal leadership to develop, audit and maintain market-based go/no-go strategies
- Support business development team with strategies for expanding the company’s market presence and achieving business growth targets.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop data-driven marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate research findings and recommendations to senior management and business development teams.
- Prepare weekly report for business development opportunities and activities.
- Develop and maintain project pursuit calendars and schedules to ensure timely execution of outreach, pre-positioning and positioning efforts.
- Maintain CRM database of potential clients, partners, and stakeholders and provide recommendations for streamlining CRM processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide recommendations and guidance on effective CRM software utilization and processes
- Leverage CRM database to gain market intelligence, including competitor analysis, market segmentation, and customer demographics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Researcher or Coordinator, within the AEC industry. Knowledge of public and private procurement processes is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, project management software and other tools as required.
- Knowledge of market research methodologies and techniques, specific to the AEC industry.
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
