NeighborCare Meridian Center for Health

Meridian Center for Health is an integrated health services clinic for low-income residents in North Seattle. A federally-qualified health center (FQHC), Meridian Center for Health’s mission is to treat low-income underserved populations with little or no insurance. The facility provides affordable primary medical and dental care, nutrition and maternity support services, mental health, and recovery services.

LEED Gold certified, the facility includes a roof-mounted solar array, bioretention streambed, attention to daylighting, and integrated shading devices. Two stories of steel framing with braced frames allow for a completely open floorplate that accommodates the potential of future changes in healthcare delivery.

A recipient of a 2017 National AIA Healthcare Design Award (one of seven), the jury’s key words for this project were “sweet” and “beautiful.”
