1201 1st Ave S Renovation
To meet the need for expanded event space for the Mariners, Lund Opsahl teamed with SHKS Architects, Andersen Construction, and the Baseball Club of Seattle to update the 100-year-old brick warehouse and office building for the 21st century. The renovation will take the existing warehouse space and add a catering kitchen, several bars, and a divisible interior, along with an outdoor event incorporating areas for a beer garden, food trucks, and a permanent food stand. During the design phase, the engineers at Lund Opsahl integrated the architectural directive to preserve as many historical details as possible with the changes necessitated by a full seismic upgrade, collaborating with the team to create a construction plan that will complete this project within budget, time, and aesthetic constraints. The renovation and reimagining of the 1201 building will express its history and future as a central part of the SODO business community, and become part of game day traditions for guests and partners of the Seattle Mariners.
