First Hill Surgery Center

With 12 fully-equipped operating rooms and 32 postoperative rooms, the 36,000 SF First Hill Surgery Center at 1101 Madison Street is the largest ambulatory surgery center in the Pacific Northwest. Renovating the second floor of this existing building required evaluating and designing structure on four different existing floors, including adding a large steel frame at the roof to support a new 54,000 lb air handling unit. Under an accelerated schedule to meet the center’s opening date, Lund Opsahl’s responsive approach provided timely deliverables to successfully meet the client’s needs.
