Hotel Interurban & Apartments
At 19 stories tall, Hotel Interurban is the tallest building in Southcenter, signaling a shift in the evolving Tukwila valley. With 370 market rate apartments, a 189-room hotel, and more than 500 stalls in the detached parking structure, this project consists of post-tensioned flat plates and concrete shear walls that promote flexibility in architectural programing.
A number of significant challenges linked to liquefiable soils were addressed by employing a system of deep foundations and grade beams, optimized and balanced to minimize costs.
