Island County Administrative Building

Lund Opsahl is providing structural engineering services for a new 8,500 SF administrative building to house administrative functions for Island County. The County’s existing building was functionally obsolete and sub-standard, and this new facility will address administrative functions to support its 20-plus departments and approximately 425 employees.

The facility is a long span wood structure with exposed glulam beams and columns, designed for flexibility to respond to future growth needs. Features include a long public lobby, administrative offices with an open floorplan, a large public meeting space that can be sectioned for smaller groups, and a sheriff office area.
