Maritime Building Construction Engineering
Originally built in 1911, the historic Maritime Building possesses more than a century of stories about Seattle’s waterfront. One of the last heavy timber post and beam waterfront buildings, the structure in fully engaged in a major renovation. Once complete, the building will be home to a mix of retail and office spaces. Lund Opsahl provided construction support services during demolition for this massive project. Elements include manlift foundation and tie-in connections, exterior wall bracing during demolitions, structural review of partial foundation demolition, shoring of structural framing during demolition, and overall structural integrity review as the building was partially demolished.
