Last week, design team member Garrett Peterson visited the site of the new Health Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing Classroom Complex at Shoreline Community College just before the foundational concrete pour. Designed to match the campus’s midcentury modern style, the facility will replace five existing buildings and meet the unique needs of the Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Biomanufacturing departments. The design team was tasked with creating a space that would balance acoustical challenges with necessary spaces for collaboration, and integrating energy efficient systems to meet the project’s LEED Silver goals.
