The Washington State School for the Blind Learning Independence for Today and Tomorrow, or LIFTT, program teaches life skills to blind and visually impaired young adults with a goal of achieving independent living. In collaboration with Mahlum Architects, Lund Opsahl worked diligently to replace an existing single story 1970s era structure with a modern wood-framed sustainable structure that features exposed wood elements and facilitates a sensory rich environment.
