At Lund Opsahl, we believe in the value of one’s time away from the office, as it’s during this time that we recharge, find clarity, and prepare for the next challenge. Here, we highlight our team’s adventures and hobbies, no matter how the size.

CatCon(dominium) Creation

Melissa and her husband Nick decided to make a financially responsible decision to save $600 and build our own driftwood cat tree. Driftwood sourced from Camano Island, who knows where all these cats came from. CatCon(dominium) #1 prototype has been well received (when covered in treats).

Crossing the Atlantic

Rick and his wife cruised across the Atlantic Ocean from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Barcelona with stops at Tenerife, Morocco, Palma Majorca, and Valencia. They topped off their journey with a few days in Ireland. See above for pictures from their voyage.

The Desert Caravan

Over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to travel with my wife and dog while working remotely. We started in San Luis Obispo, where we got to enjoy the beaches and catch up with old friends. On the way to our next stop in Albuquerque, we stopped in St. George and Zion National Park for some amazing views, hot weather, and good food. Now we’re settled in Albuquerque until November, looking forward to golfing and seeing the famous balloon festival.

Geckos

The spirit of the gecko followed Emily throughout their recent trip to Maui. Across many cultures, geckos symbolize adaptability, renewal, resilience, and good fortune. They’re often seen as reminders to embrace change, trust your instincts, and face challenges with grace. In some traditions, geckos are even revered as deities or considered messengers of luck. Emily encountered them everywhere during this deeply rejuvenating trip, so they brought one home with them.

Mountain High

Vincent has been trying to hit the mountains at least once per week (in preparation for his annual Mount St. Helens hike). From time to time, he’ll pick up a pen or a paintbrush for an art session. Here is a watercolor painting of Mount Adams from Goat Lake and a crossover attempt of Pokémon and a famous artwork (the Creation of Adam).

Hot Weather & Good Food

Over the last few months, Garrett, his wife, and his dog Theo have been working remotely and traveling the West Coast. They started in San Luis Obispo, where they got to enjoy the beaches and catch up with old friends. On the way to their next stop in Albuquerque, they stopped in St. George and Zion National Park for some amazing views, hot weather, and good food. Now they’ve settled in Albuquerque until November, looking forward to golfing and seeing the famous balloon festival.
