Located on the newly built light rail extension, the Tacoma Medical Office Building addition will increase available office space by 33,600 SF. Lund Opsahl worked closely with Ankrom Moisan Architects to strategically place buckling restrained brace frames that minimized disruption to the architectural plan and promotes future flexibility. Our design avoided upgrades to the existing building structural systems, and the creative use of cantilevers at the roof and floors allowed the new building to adjoin the existing adjacent structures while eliminating the need for deep foundations.
